the war between whether people should eat animals or not is just stupid and distracting when we factor in how our food in general is produced. Yes, our food system treats animals like crap and is environmentally unhealthy, but the way the majority of fruits and vegetables are produced is no better. Soil is depleted of its nutrients, diverse land is destroyed in favor of monoculture, pesticides are used, workers are exploited, gas is wasted transporting out-of-season foods to supermarkets all over…the list goes on and on. I think people should ditch the holier-than-thou mentality and actually focus on the crux of the problem: the food industry as a whole. Neither animals nor plants are treated as they should and are exploited dangerously.
