All these people who are like ‘all Muslims are violent jihadists and they gonna kill usssss’ - I wonder if they’ve ever actually *met* a Muslim? Because there’s bad apples in every bunch (right now, I am reading that the province of Punjab in Pakistan has banned public music performance because it’s ‘un-Islamic’ and my heart is hurting because this is in PUNJAB, the land of bhangra and giddha and ghazals and bhajans, HOW CAN YOU BAN MUSIC?) but no one is going to judge American Christians based on Rick Santorum or the people who bomb abortion clinics. We have a nuanced view of Christians: some of them are really lovely and use their faith to inspire them to do good things and some of them use the Bible as a weapon to hurt anyone they don’t like or understand. Why is it so difficult to look at Muslims in the same manner?
yep.
