You know what irks the ever present fuck out of me
Rich & famous CIS white queer people who talk about how other queers should come out the closet…
I know you’re sheltered by the gay community in your posh liberal walk down the street holding your partners hand see the police and don’t feel fear ASS NEIGHBORHOODs!!!
But that are queer people who don’t have a community that reflects them in every way…
There are queers who dread walking down the block to the store in fear of getting gay-bashed…
There are queers who have to stay in the closet because if their families find out they will be homeless…
There are queers who find that the closet is their only place of safety…
There are queers who can’t be openly queer in their neighborhoods because they could get killed…
There are queers who can’t be themselves in grade school because they WILL be ignored by authority figures and picked on by other children and then live in a home environment that’s potentially harmful to them…
There are queer parents who fear for the lives of their own children in fear of how their children my be treated because they have queer parents…
There are queer women who not only have to deal with attitudes around queerness but also have to deal with what it means to be a woman in this patriarchal society… And let’s not even add in race to the mix… Cause then we’re talking about ultra fuckery as far as oppression is concerned…
There are trans people of color who have to remain in the closet about being trans because they suffer THE MOST VIOLENCE IN THE LGBTQ community…
But you seem blithely unaware of any of these realities… So do us all a favor and SHUT THE FUCK UP…. The closet is the only place of shelter for some and you want to take that from them to make yourself feel better… Fuck you!!!
