Why are we supposed to trust the government? Trust the media?
But no one is supposed to trust our voices? Our thoughts? Our interpretations?
Niggas been saying for years the police are evil
Niggas been saying for years the banks are evil
Niggas been saying for years the governments are evil
but you need some scandal to be dropped
or documents to be leaked
or whistleblower to come out
for people to start taking this ish seriously
Naw, they only care when it finally hits white people. Police brutality only became a thing for them after Occupy white people got some pepper spray. Bank reform only became a thing after their own subprime hustle fell through. Healthcare reform is only thing after the companies realized they could also break contracts with the middle class white people and suffer no ill effects.
They spent their whole lives ok with what happens to POC and never thought it could happen to them. Now they get a whiff of the taste and suddenly it’s time for outrage.
Thing is, they don’t turn around and go, “Oh God, this has BEEN happening to Black folks”, instead, they always go, “OMG, now WE’RE being treated LIKE Black folks” and the they get upset.
See also how quick they reference “X is slavery” these days. It’s their coded way for saying “They treating you like you’re BLACK!!! GET ANGRY”
